Buying & Selling

We aim to make buying and selling through Addisons Auctioneers a simple and enjoyable procedure. Below you will find some basic guidelines to help you plan your visit to the next Auction.

Buying at Auction - Bidding

Bids can be made in the following ways:

  • Bid in person on a sale day. Prospective buyers are required to register with Addisons Auctioneers and are consequently allocated a Buyer Number. Buyer's details are treated as confidential.
  • Bid live online via the-saleroom.com/addisons
  • Bid by commission (absentee bid) up to the evening before the sale. Commission slips are available at Reception or alternatively complete the bidding form on the website.
  • Bid by telephone during the sale. We have telephone lines available for clients who are unable to attend the auction.

Registration

All buyers are required to register prior to a sale. All client details are treated as confidential.

Absentee Bids

Absentee bids are subject to verification. Bids will be executed as cheaply as possible on your behalf, up to your stated value. The Buyer is responsible for contacting Addisons Auctioneers within 24 hours of the sale to find out if the bid has been successful.
